Quite easily the weakest season of Oz so far. It all feels kinda... pointless in a sense? I said this a couple of times already, but i seriously feel strongly about how season four should've been the final season of the show.
Almost all the characters this season are bland, forgettable, useless. Character arcs go circles. Beecher and Keller serve no sense of direction and are pretty much only in the show anymore because they used to be great and popular characters. The side cast is honestly so forgettable i barely remember anything important that would've happened with them. Said's arc is little bit overblown and even he didn't get to be his former self, meaning an amazing character. Augustus monologues this season were so bad aswell lol. Bunch of nonsense yapping that i just couldn't care about.
The only characters this season that i really liked were Omar (who's character went circles aswell), Ryan, Miguel, Augustus aaaand... well.. no one else comes to mind right now but there's maybe couple more.
Oz always being nailed to realism is little bit thrown out this season also because there's a lot of supernatural and nonsensical things involved. The whole priest thing was dumb. Rebadow's plotline was stupid, insults the audience's intelligence really in truth. There were signs of the creator running out of ideas in 4B but this season it shows even more.
Also the lack of stakes and sense of danger stood out to me as a major flaw aswell because until the final couple of minutes.. none of the main characters really felt threatened or had to deal with any conflict at all. Adding to the season being bland and pointless.
It's a really poor season in all honesty. I'm not excited about season six
