i had a very extended review written out and then i was like… nobody wants my critical analysis of the Netflix series Bridgerton a year post its release i’ll leave it at, as much as i enjoy this show, i feel as though this could’ve been so much more than what it is. i don’t want to underestimate the hard work of what was put in to make this what it is, but so many aspects of this felt as though we were 80% of the way to something objectively really special and good, and just settled on being this entertaining “guilty pleasure”-esque show. i still love it and am so excited for season 2 and seeing where they take the arcs (compared to my decent but relatively minimal knowledge of the books) also the Lady Whistledown reveal was so well done i wish they ended the season then and there rather than giving that little epilogue of Simon and Daphne
