Are all Sally Rooney novels like this? They reflect the complex romantic relationships, but they’re a pain in the ass too. Just when I thought I knew how this would end, the show decided to take another path. Probably the most admirable aspect of this miniseries is the arguments against monogamy. I’m slightly wishing those arguments were fully realized, just so firm believers of monogamy would be pissed. That said, Frances doesn’t deserve to take any blame for entering an illicit affair with Nick. But she deserves a little reprimanding for nearly ruining her friendship with Bobbi. The lesson is this: wise up in the face of love and choose your friends over lovers.
