Its hard to rate this season for me because i want to give it 4 stars but it just wasn’t up to that standard of quality. I know after this season the show really elevates in all areas. This wasn’t the best season 1 but i kind of reminded me of mr robots season 1 since both of them picked up in the middle of the season for me. The best part of this first season was probably the character development, Teddy and Franklins development was well paced for 10 episodes. The weakest points of this season were the side plots, my god they were so boring at times. Gustavo is the only interesting character in his side story and its unfortunately takes me out if it whenever his part is on screen. Teddys side plot was more interesting but still very slow. In the 5th episode his plot didn’t progress at all but atleast it was funny. Alejandro was actually a pretty decent supporting character to Teddys part of the story and made a lasting impact on Teddy. You can say the same for Lucia and Gustavo but it just wasn’t entertaining. The cinematography was food but not as good as it gets in the later seasons. The set and costume design really prop up the cinematography making this show so vibrant and full of life while being so dark at the same time. To wrap this up, if you plan on going into this show be patient because I could see how someone could easily look interest in the characters or the plot since its so dull in this first season.
