Whereas this format was better lent to translating the story of The Vampires, the film was better at encapsulating the filmmaking passion. Ultimately this was a very interesting character piece that felt cathartic for people who have a passion for the art of film and television but it also isolates a more general audience by doing so. The performances are great and if you have seen any of Olivier Assayas’s previous works than you know exactly what wonderfully weird elevated aspects he is bringing to the storytelling.
