Went in with low anticipations as I’ve always expected Demon Slayer to be an overrated show , but tbh , finishing Season 1 , this hits really hard , it’s not the pinnacle of storytelling by any mean , but we have to remember that this at the end of the day a belonged to the shonen demographic , and it freakin delivered in getting its job done , the animation alone delivered visual orgasms all the time , and Tanjiro is simply a charming and nice character to follow and went through a well-written arc here , and I genuinely loved the show’s attempt at giving each demon a tragic backstory or something , reminding us that they never wanted to turn into that and making them more than just boss levels for our main characters to progress through I did take a long time to get used to its comedy(looking at you , Zenitsu) because they felt out of place after what’s presented to us in the first episode , beside , the comedy were really hit-or-miss , but by the end it felt like watching ONE PIECE with how wholesome the show could be with its likeable characters , I’ve also started reading the manga and it’s better at telling a story (weaker in action of course) in that medium , a bit generic , but I am definitely a fan of this
