From the intro of this show alone you can tell you’re about to watch something that is above your average capeshit. Daredevil is my favourite marvel character and I don’t believe I will ever see a better adaptation of him in my lifetime than this show, most of the time it barely even presents itself as a superhero show, it’s a crime drama about a lawyer who just happens to also be a vigilante (obviously it progresses into more comic book-y stuff in the latter two seasons but still), seeing superhero’s personal life’s is something that is deeply missing from most capeshit and it makes it much harder to see them as anything other than a plot device to fight the villains. Matt’s character is so well done, he actually feels like a real person with genuine flaws. Yes, he’s devoting his life to protecting people but he’s also extremely self centred and a lot of the time doesn’t take others opinions into account, and then he’s also a pretty shit friend to Foggy which he actually faces consequences for. This makes him so much easier to connect with and relate to and is just one of the reasons I’m disappointed the show is 100% canon to the MCU now. It doesn’t deserve it. I will be watching Born Again but I can’t see a Disney+ show nearing the level that this show hit.
