What a stupid episode. Ryan leaves Lindsey drunk by the ocean after she declares that she wants to go swimming? He's not that stupid. His outrage at Marissa is completely justified. His apology to her wasn't necessary, she should've apologized to him. Her alcoholism upsets Summer (visible by her discomfort when Marissa starts drinking from the flask) and she gets Lindsey drunk. This being said, his over protective behavior isn't, but considering his abandonment issues and Marissa's overdose, it's understandable.
