Wow.
There’s so much to unpack from this episode, but I’ve gotta start it off by saying I absolutely loved the fight at the tower. Seeing everyone in action like that was so cool, especially because I didn’t expect Ryan to be there or Starlight to ACTUALLY be powerful for once.
Killing Black Noir was expected, but I was still so shocked in the brutal manner that Homelander did it. It seemed like he suffered daily from his traumas in war and to end his life suffering too? How awful.
I was glad to see Maeve return in a very meaningful way. She had lots of beef to settle with Homelander, but saving everyone in the tower from Soldier Boy goes to show how she always had a bit of heroism inside of her. I’m glad to see her powerless now, but I hope she joins The Boys in some capacity next season.
When it comes to The Boys themselves, it seems like they’ll be on a timetable now. They’re going to be trying to kill someone who is running for Vice President of the United States, Butcher has very little time left to live, but Starlight has officially joined them. I’m curious to see how The Boys May utilize other enemies of Homelander (such as A-Train, The Deep, and Ashley) next season too!
