Even with occasional comments this whole watch to the effect 'just wait' and 'strap in,' I really wasn't prepared to the full on descent into hell from this last arc, some of the most disturbing imagery I've seen in animation, the series' running cautionary tale of the dangers of naked ambition and selfishness made manifest as literal demons devouring the characters. Fucked up man.
