Psychoville’s second season subverts audience expectation every five minutes, which is both to its benefit and detriment. It keeps the plot fresh, this season revolves around the mystery of the locket, and leads to some shocking revelations (the surprise Nazi was a highlight), but the show constantly killing off characters we love from the first series wasn’t ideal, especially when the characters replacing them aren’t as fun to watch. Outside of the librarian (the best new character easy) and the aforementioned surprise Nazi, I didn’t think any of the new arrivals were on the same level as the first series cast. Some of the deaths were entertaining though, with a character dancing with a fresh corpse to Oops Upside Your Head being the biggest laugh of the season. The Sowerbutts duo are still the best thing here.
