Not sure why people are raking Mr. Beast over the coals for hosting a show where people compete willingly for money when that is literally the premise of every reality competition ever. It's entertaining, and the scale is just insane. What else can you ask for?
From the ending, I guess a second season was never even considered lol. How refreshing to see gay, lesbian and bisexual characters portrayed as scheming murderers too. Pretty fun stuff. Doubt it's very historically accurate if that's your thing.
In in the minority here I'm sure, but I think the Damon movie was better. I mean, Andrew Scott is great, but how are we supposed to believe him in this role when he is 48! And it's just too long and dour for heaven's sake!
It didn't quite stick the landing, but I honestly thought that this was very thought-provoking and intelligent. I ended up reading the book after it was over because I found it so interesting.
One of the bleakest series I have ever seen. It's incredibly slow and wastes lots of time panning across rooms while people move around under neon lighting in slow motion. That said, while I don't exactly recommend it, there were many performances and moments in this series that have stuck with me.
