I knew exactly how it was going to end and still found myself annoyed with it, and the show had the audacity to treat it as some surprise. It's the same thing that has happened for the last four episodes. I would've been more surprised if it didn't take the easy way out narratively.
In my opinion, twists need to work in two ways. First, they need to recontextualize everything you have seen up until this point. Second, they need to create a clear path forward. I believe "Girl Gun Lady" nailed it on both accounts.
