Reviews for The Pacific

90,45% | EXCELLENT The horror and intensity of the same war situation in the Pacific are still felt, even though they don't quite match the quality of some of the elements found in "Band of Brothers." This show's using a linear story, and of course, the narrative is easy to watch and understand, b

it’s not band of brothers, but it doesn’t need to be. the pacific is a companion piece to the miniseries on the european world war 2 front band of brothers, both tales of war and conflict. the pacific tells a tale of forgotten battles, oftentimes not steeped in glory like the many heard of and taug

The Pacific is often overlooked simply because Band of Brothers set such a high standard. However, this series is just as thought-provoking and impactful as its predecessor. The episodes covering Guadalcanal, Peleliu, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa are incredibly brutal and emotionally charged, making them d

May not be as good as Band of Brothers but it’s dam sure close. Superb acting.

A look into The Pacific War during WWII from the viewpoint of three U.S. Marines; Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge, and John Basilone. While depicting the war, this show also goes beyond the battlefield, and taps into how the war affected marines. Physically, mentally and emotionally, these men went t

Not as strong as BoB (mostly due to the narrative). However, it is just as emotionally powerful and technically well made, with the 2nd half of the show truly feeling on par with its predecessor. Best characters (no particular order): Sledge Haldane Leckie Gunny Haney Snafu

While still damn great, it unfortunately is going to get compared to its predecessor Band of Brothers, which is a damn masterpiece. The Pacific shows an underrated represented theater of WWII. In a sea of war films set in the European theater, The Pacific shows just what hell the men went through ov

really liked this, in particular i loved the fact we saw more of the states during the war, and i really liked that there was a whole episode dedicated to after the war. i loved leckie and was super invested in sledge as a character. i do think some of the side characters could have been introduced

It reminded me of my great days of Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault.

gets better every rewatch. the comparisons to band of brothers are pointless, imo. they're completely different shows about different wars and themes, and they each have different structures (the pacific not really being an ensemble show, for example). eugene and leckie's stories (basilone's, not so

Though somewhat less coherent than its European theater counterpart, The Pacific is a haunting, violent, very well made portrayal of combat and suffering during WW2, and is certainly worth watching for anyone who enjoys a good war film. As a show it's a lot more focused on its characters than I expe

I didn't like it quite as much as Band of Brothers but this comes extremely close, shows war in its true brutal form.

I’m mesmerized by how great the production design and action sequences are. A fantastic miniseries. Yet I feel like this doesn’t get enough attention because it’s always compared to Band of Brothers. That’s unfair to The Pacific because Band of Brothers is the best miniseries of all time. Nonetheles

That opening cinematic, holy sh*t. Very symbolic. I can't imagine that hell though, I can't believe people went through this.

Band of brothers is better My friend, who was a commander at the Israeli army, showed episode 3 to his soldiers because he thinks this is the best representation of something in combat I didn't understand

This show is near perfect! Rami malek character is so good. I love snafu and sledge.

While doesn't hit the heights of Band of Brothers and doesn't have a performance at the levels of Damien Lewis. This pulls no punches to showing the reality of war in the pacific theater.

Leckie was my favourite

Another incredible war series from Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg! About a war not nearly talked about enough of even though it was just as important and horrific as the others. Really makes you feel that much more grateful for the sacrifice that all these men made for the future of our world.
