So faithfully adapted, 100 years were FELT.

DROPPED after four years, err, episodes.

Another show added to the list of faithful book adaptations.  
To my surprise, Netflix actually did a good job. As they say, "Even a broken clock is right twice a day."
I never thought this grand piece of fiction would ever be adapted, but color me surprised. 
The show reawakened my love for magic and surrealism. Dare I say, I wish they focused more on the "magic" aspect of the show than the "realism" one. But beggars can't be choosers, I don't wanna jinx it 🤞
What else can I say... I appreciate that we got all Colombian cast, actors did a fantastic job. Special shoutout to the actors for Ursula and Aureliano. 
The soundtrack elevated every emotion tenfold and perfectly captured the mystery and dreamlike essence of Macondo.
I have no complaints about cinematography. In fact, the José Arcadio scene in the last episode was breathtaking 😍 
As someone who was wary of this adaptation, I can proudly say my reservations were unfounded. I pray that S2 matches the quality of its predecessor or even surpasses it 🙏🏻

Could have easily given this a 4, but part 2 still left and I will not give this show the benefit of the doubt. If you know me you know I love an accurate adaptation. Anything else I lose my shit. As I have not yet read the book, I’m still on the edge. I might just quickly read the book before Netflix releases part 2, cause I don’t believe Netflix not fucking something up of this caliber.

RECOMMENDED! Magical realism can be tricky on screen, but it’s handled beautifully here, the otherworldly mixing with the quotidian to create a lush Macondo. Overall production wise, amazing soundtrack and cinematography. Good acting, but the transition felt off on many scenes; felt very amateurish.
