It's so beautifully made, it's sad how small the viewership is (relatively).

after a certain point you kind of become happy about something not getting recognition because it makes it that much more valuable, which is pretty fucked up..

this is not an anime for the incels trying to find a corny protagonist to relate with. 

(if you are dropping acid, and still want to consume content for some weird reason like I did, this might literally be the only show you'll be able to watch and enjoy)

oblique, experimental, surrealist horror with some of the most fucked up, psychedelic, avant-garde imagery ever shown on national TV

a heavy dose of Japanese history and folklore mixed with supernatural entities, themes of repression and misogyny, and the entire art team trying to replicate what they saw on their communal DMT trip, you get arguably the most unique anime to ever exist (although i'm still lainpilled af)

The Medicine Seller is a deadly and mysterious master of the occult who travels across feudal Japan in search of malevolent spirits called mononoke to slay. When he locates one of these spirits, he cannot simply kill it; he must first learn its Form, its Truth, and its Reason in order to wield the mighty Exorcism Sword and fight against it. He must begin his strange exorcisms with intense psychological analysis and careful investigative work—an extremely dangerous step, as he must first confront and learn about the mononoke before he even has the means to defeat it.
