I sincerely believe that Karl Pilkington is the remedy to cure all ills. I had some awful news regarding my family dog a couple of weeks back, and have since been living and breathing the old XFM shows with Ricky, Steve, and Karl again. I swear that old tinpot radio show is the ultimate comfort during hard times. 

While An Idiot Abroad isn't quite as funny as the XFM shows or the podcast, it's still such fun to watch. Seeing Karl travel the world and see different cultures through his unique pair of eyes is the selling point. Hearing his humour and wit as he becomes a more cultured man. This is the show that led me down the rabbit hole that is RSK and I'll always have it to thank for that. 

I recommend this show and Karl Pilkington in general to anyone struggling emotionally, as it's like wearing a warm blanket by the fire as a storm rages outside. I'm so incredibly thankful that this show and Karl Pilkington in general exists as I'm not sure how I would've coped these last couple of weeks otherwise.

An Idiot Abroad is a British travel documentary television series broadcast on Sky1 and Science, as well as spin-off books published by Canongate Books, created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and starring Karl Pilkington. The ongoing theme of both the television series and the books is that Pilkington has no interest in global travel, so Merchant and Gervais make him travel while they stay in the United Kingdom and monitor his progress.
