Reviews for Gunpowder

Best Period mini series ever made.

The fact that Kit Harington is a direct descendant of who he plays in this is insane to me

Quite liked this small miniseries! An effective historical thriller, fabulous period detail (love those costumes especially), and some strong performances from the cast including excellent use of Kit Harrington’s charisma.

It might not be a 5 star for me, but did see why Luke likes that mini series that much. I am also a time period fan and Gunpowder is a great series that fits the genre. I don't really know if it is accurate, but I liked the story. I was immerse into it and I was very angry about all this even though

While Kit Harrington only knows how to play one type of character, he does it very well. With only 3 episodes, Gunpowder breezes by quite effectively.

Episodes: 1-3 3 episodes of meaningless conversations and brutal slaughtering of Catholics by Protestants. Who's idea was it to make something out of a failed assassination plot? The aftermath is already decided. Why sit and emotionally attached to these characters while we know their destiny ended

three hours of terrible character development

Very good and an interesting piece of history, also great acting all around.

One of the British period dramas ever made. Jon Snow tries to blow up Parliament. What’s not to love. This should have been a really great miniseries but with a bad script the series is hurt as a whole. Jon Snow makes it watchable and the production design and cinematography is nice to look at. Bu

Worth watching for Kit Harington alone 🤷🏻‍♀️😍

Such a waste of fucking time…and it was only 3 eps…. 🔫

"Gunpowder" rings as a double-bladed symbol of hope, faith and freedom amongst these characters and throughout this short series. Perhaps if it was longer, we could see a larger stretch of character development, but for how small the series is, I think it did well.

Very poor production. Too many scenes are in almost complete darkness so one cannot see clearly what is happening. The actors' diction is poor so hard to understand. Slow and long drawn out so boring to watch.

You must live so that I may have a good death knowing you are alive. Take all my love. The torture was crazy graphic, understandably an 18 Real Yorkshireman didn’t crack 🫶🏻

I feel like to had a lot of potential. It was beautifully made I think and the costumes were cool (not necessarily accurate) but the historical accuracy was all off and things just didn’t make sense at some points but I was entertained.
