I think the balance of the upstairs downstairs dynamic is perfect. I love them all sm. This is my first rewatch and I forgot how much happens in the first season. The acting is great, the costumes are great, the vibes are it.

I was midway through S2 and found out that a fave character of mine dies in a future season so I had to drop the show lol but brilliant stuff like everyone else says, made me want to picnic in the park

i dont like to watch historical dramas but having heard of the high praise about downton abby in particular made me want to get into this genre again and i was pleasantly surprised. all of the episodes were solid and its one of the better seasons of tv i have seen and id rate it a solid 9/10. top 3

A solid first season with a great set of characters and promising drama. The background scores are all instant classics, in my opinion.
